Comments

This is one of the shorter segments of this ride. Partly to allow me to linger in Phoenix, take my time poking around in the foothills and also do some sightseeing in Tucson.

Time for some sight seeing in and about Tucson. Dinner with a friend as well.

Phoenix Art Museum may be worth a look. Of particular note for the future is a 2002 Dale Chihuly installation.

AZ.gay, information for gays and lesbians in Arizona.

Today we pass through Florence Arizona . OK so Sedona had some wacky entries, but this one is interesting way. And you really have to ask, particularly in light of George W's ascension to the Presidency, to whom was this visit compassionate? Observation: Compassionate will pass out of popular usage by mid-2001.

Here we have a mainstream web-reference to Florence.

Biosphere 2 is located at Oracle, slightly off today's route.

AZcentral.com is a good resource for information about central Arizona. My favorite link within is under travel and outdoors and look for the great drives section. The suggestion for Back Road to Tucson is the fun part of today's ride.

One of the great heritage items left by the Spanish colonialism of the Southwest are the missions. San Xavier del Bac is the oldest Spanish mission in the United States and if not the most handsome definitely it is one of the best.

What about a trip down missile memory lane: Titan II Missile Museum.
