Route Overview:

Depart Pierre on US Route 14 heading north.

West of Blunt, SD, route 14 turns east. Remain on US Route 83 heading north.

Cross state line into North Dakota

At intersection with Interstate 94, enter I-94 (exit 182) heading west.

At exit 159 transition to US 83 to visit Bismarck.

Turn right onto Business Loop 94 heading west.

At River Road, turn right (north) onto River Road. River Road becomes North Dakota Route 1804. Remain on route 1804.

At intersection with US Route 83, turn left (north) onto route 83.

At Underwood, turn left onto Old US Highway 83.

Arrive Underwood.

Comments

I made a minor change in my initial plans to include the stretch of 1804 from Bismarck along the Missouri River. The Most Scenic Drives in America (1997) includes this stretch of highway as part of drive number 54.
