An alternate route was suggested: Consider taking the swan valley rout from Missoula to Kalispel...it is a largely unspoiled valley, unlike the Flathead and Bitteroot...If you go that route, stop by Holland Lake Lodge, it has a wonderful location on the lake just off the hwy (route2). The valley is 60 miles long, and dumps ya into BigFork, an upscale town just before Kalispel... Might have to consider this as an option.
